Are People Crazy?

Ok, I'm convinced that the house-buying public is crazy. Here's why:

1) A couple that came to view our house TWICE on Monday absolutely loved the house and thought it was gorgeous. They put an offer on another house that was "not as done" as our house, so they could go ahead and finish it to look like our house. Huh? In this market, people want to buy houses that they can just move into, not ones they have to spend gobs of money on. Crazy.

2) A man came to see the house today. Loved it, thought it "showed really well" and that it was decorated tastefully. Loved the kitchen, the stainless steel appliances... but was surprised that the basement didn't have a kitchen. Huh? The basement has a full spa bathroom, another bedroom with a window, and a huge surround-sound home theatre. Who finishes a basement and puts a kitchen in there, especially when there's not a separate entrance? Crazy.

3) That same man gave me 15 minutes notice that he was coming to view the house. I had to rush to get it straightened up and organized. Crazy.

4) Another woman came and LOVED the house and all the upgrades and finishes. She finds the backyard is not private enough. She wants a new house in a new neighborhood, and she wants a private yard? Huh? Doesn't she realize that new housing developments lack trees and space and privacy, and that huge houses go on small lots and your neighbors can tell if you're opening a can of tuna or cooking a turkey because they can see into your kitchen like you live in a fishbowl? Crazy.

I'm so sick of all this nonsense. I just wish someone would make an offer! We accepted the first offer on our last place and that worked like a dream. I realize the house has only been on the market for two weeks, but we're getting so much action that something has to happen. A couple came last night to view the house and they REALLY LOVED it... they'll probably put an offer on another house...
